Another rain bomb has hit Victoria, drenching the already wet state.

Bass Coast has been hit hard with just under 50ml landing on Phillip Island on Monday.

Inverloch, Cape Patterson and Wonthaggi received 29ml and Grantville received 45ml.

Local roads were covered with water as morning commuters and school buses made the morning run.

“I was standing here at the bus stop and a car drove past and got me completely wet,” a student waiting at the bus stop said.

A small landslide also occurred on Potters Hill Rd about 11.30am on Monday, near the merging lane onto Phillip Island Rd.

Areas in East Gippsland recorded much less rain, with Bairnsdale only recording about 1ml on Monday while West Gippsland received slightly more with Moe recording about 5ml of rain.

South Gippsland received about 29ml in Leongatha and Korumburra.

Gale force winds are expected to continue throughout Port Phillip, The West Coast, Central Coast, Central Gippsland Coast and East Gippsland Coast.

A strong wind warning is in place for Western Port.

The weather has also caused sporadic power outages due to trees down and wind disturbances.

Rain is expected to continue throughout the week.

The SES is again echoing pleas made over the past few months and asking people not to drive through flood waters.

“Don’t do it, it’s dangerous,” a spokesman said.
