A motorcyclist has been killed following a crash in Victoria’s southeast.

A police spokesperson said the rider lost control of their bike on Jumbuk Rd in Yinnar about 2.45pm on Monday.

“The yet-to-be-identified male rider died at the scene,” the spokesperson said.

“The investigation into the crash is ongoing.”

It has taken the state road toll to 159 — the same number of lives lost on Victorian roads this time last year.

Police are also investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash on Coster Rd in Ripplebrook — south of Drouin — about 3.20pm on July 20.

A police spokesperson said officers attended and located the yet to be identified female driver and only occupant of the vehicle deceased at the scene, where her car left the road and crashed.

Anyone who witnessed either incident, has more information, has CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers Victoria on 1800 333 000, submit a confidential report online, contact the Churchill police station on (03) 5122 1790, the Boolarra police station on (03) 5169 6222 or the Drouin police station on (03) 5625 2003.
