Police investigating house fires in Sale, Kilmore and Glenlogie after fiery night

A home and a car parked outside have been destroyed by fire in southeast Victoria during a night of house fires across the state.

Multiple homes have been ravaged by separate fires across the state overnight, with Victoria Police investigating.

A fire broke out in a Sale home about 2.52am on Friday, crews arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames and a car parked outside also alight.

The scene on Aerodrome Rd took 11 crews about an hour to control and crews let the fire burn itself into the early hours of the morning out after bringing it under control.

Luckily the sole occupant of the house was able to self evacuate.

Victoria Police was notified and attended the scene.

CFA had earlier responded to house fire on Centenary Drive in Kilmore at 1.39am.

Nine CFA units from Wandong, Kilmore, Clonbinane, Broadford and Wallan brigades attended the scene.

Crews brought the fire under control by 2.18am and declared the scene safe a short time later.

The scene was handed to Victoria Police.

Crews were also called to the scene of a house fire on Raglan-Elmhurst Rd in Glenlogie in the state’s southwest about 7.51pm on Thursday.

The structure was fully involved by fire when crews arrived and it took them about an hour to bring under control.

Firefighters remained on scene for some time to black out any remaining hot spots.

The scene was declared safe by 10.45pm.
