A tobacco shop in the Latrobe Valley has gone up in flames for the second time in less than a year with police investigating the cause.

Police are investigating after a tobacco store in the Latrobe Valley went up in flames for the second time in less than a year.

Emergency services, including crews from CFA and FRV, were called to the property on Lloyd St in Moe at 5.35am on Tuesday.

A police spokesperson said no one was inside the property at the time.

An FRV spokesperson said the blaze was brought under control by 5.48am.

Investigations by Taskforce Lunar detectives remain ongoing.

The first fire at the tobacconist occurred on Christmas Day last year.
