Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a West Gippsland building that went up in flames for the second time in a week.
Emergency services, including nine CFA units supported by FRV crews, were called to the blaze on Napier St in Warragul just after 8pm on Sunday.
“No one was inside the property at the time,” a police spokesperson said.
It was the second fire to occur at the property — the first incident being about a week ago.
A large amount of smoke could also be seen from nearby streets.
Several Facebook users said in a Warragul community group the building had been abandoned for a while.
The exact circumstances surrounding the fire are yet to be determined and both fires are being treated as suspicious at this stage.
The fire was brought under control at 9.18pm and declared safe at 10.05pm.
A CFA spokesperson said the cause of the fire was being investigated on Monday.
