Police treating discovery of deceased male on Waterloo Rd in Trafalgar as a deadly hit-run incident
Police are investigating after a body was found by a passer-by on a street in a small Gippsland town, which is being treated as a hit-run.

Police are investigating after the body of man was discovered on the street by in a small Gippsland town.
Paramedics were called to the scene on Waterloo Rd — east of Davey Dr and just off the Princes Freeway near the railway track— in Trafalgar about 10.30am on Sunday.
Police allege the man, believed to be in his 60s and is yet to be formally identified, was hit by a vehicle between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
The driver did not stop at the scene.
“Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a man walking in the area,” a police spokesperson said.
“He was wearing a black tracksuit top, a white chequered shirt, black trackpants with two white stripes down the sides and no shoes.”
Warragul woman Maree Jones said she was devastated to hear about the death.
“I couldn’t believe it when I heard about it — my deepest condolences to the person’s family, loved ones and anyone involved,” Ms Jones said.
“A shout out to our local police and ambulance who would have had to witness such terrible scenes.
“These types of tragedies stick with you — I hope everyone, especially any witnesses who had to endure this, get the help and support they need.”
Major Collision Unit Detectives remained on scene for the rest of Sunday afternoon, where traffic was blocked in both directions on Waterloo Rd while authorities continued to investigate the incident.
