Police called with reports of dead body on Cape Paterson beach

A search for a reported dead body in Cape Paterson has been called off

It is believed police were called about 1.30pm on Wednesday requesting a welfare check on the Oaks Beach in Cape Patterson.Â

A large scale search for a body in Cape Paterson has been called off.

It is believed police were called about 1.30pm on Wednesday requesting a welfare check at the Oaks Beach in Cape Patterson.

Half an hour later they received a call reporting a dead body.

Crews rushed to the area and began searching for the body on the beach and rocks.

The police air wing and state emergency service were called to help search for the body.

Some discarded clothing was found near the reported area however, by about 4pm the search was called off after no body could be found.
