A person, believed to be a cyclist in his 60s, has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car on a country highway in the state’s southeast.

One person has been flown to hospital after they were hit by a car in Victoria’s Gippsland region.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the Strzelecki Hwy in Driffield — between Moe and Churchill — at 5.15pm on Friday.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the patient sustained upper and lower body injuries and was flown to The Alfred.
It is believed the patient was a man in his 60s who was riding his bike when he was struck.
