Mum and child injured after driver in stolen vehicle crashes into their car on Waterloo Rd in Trafalgar East

A parent and toddler have been injured after a stolen Skoda wagon crashed into their Nissan X trail in West Gippsland.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Waterloo Rd in Trafalgar East just before 11.30am on Friday.

A police spokesperson said the male driver of the Skoda fled the scene and was picked up in another car.

He is described as Caucasian, 180cm with a solid build, a sleeve tattoo on his left arm and in his 30s.

“He was wearing all black clothing and white runners and he may have a cut to his hand,” the police spokesperson said.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the woman, in her 30s, and the child in the Nissan were taken to Latrobe Regional Health both in stable conditions with minor injuries.

The collision occurred on the same road where a man was killed when he was hit by a car in July.

Baw Baw highway patrol officers are appealing for public assistance to locate a driver of the Skoda.
