Melbourne’s Food and Wine Festival goes regional: The Village Feast event takes place at the Glade Inverloch

Melbourne’s Food and Wine Festival took an adventure to a coastal town in the state’s southeast this weekend. Check out all the snaps.

Festival goers fired up their tastebuds for delicious seaside eating and drinking this weekend.

Star chefs, seasoned foodies and drinks pros took Inverloch for The Village Feast as part of Melbourne Food and Wine Festival’s regional edition.

The one-day event is part of the festival’s 10-day regional tour through Gippsland, Ballarat and the Yarra Valley.

The Cook Up’s Adam Liaw brought the star power to town with Melbourne chefs Raph Rishid (Juanita Peaches), Ca Com’s Thi Le, and pastry extraordinaire Emelia Jackson.

Regional chefs Jo Barrett (Little Pickett), Sodafish’s Nick Mahlook and Sydney’s Clayton Wells and Paul Carmichael were also along for the ride.

The lunch-to-sunset carnival has more than 10 food stalls and seven festival bars, with free tastings at the Wine Gippsland Cellar, live music by Aria Award-winner Alex Lloyd, a new kid’s zone and more.

Food and Drink Victoria chief executive Anthea Loucas Bosha said: “The Regional Edition kicked off last weekend in Ballarat and the Yarra Valley and now we bring the action to beautiful, sunny Inverloch for the Village Feast.”

“We have a star-studded line-up cooking the snacks, from Adam Liaw and Emelia Jackson to Paul Carmichael, Clayton Wells and many, many more collaborating with Gippsland’s finest food talent. Come and join us for a delicious and fun-filled day.”

The Village Feast ran from 12 noon to 8pm and tickets were $35 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under.
