Sexual offences and child abuse investigation team investigating ‘lewd act’ at bus stop outside Mid Valley Shopping Centre

Police are searching for a man who performed a “lewd act” at a bus stop near a shopping centre at Morwell.

A man who was seen “pleasuring” himself near a shopping centre in Morwell on Monday, March 3 has urged the local community to remain vigilant.

Police are on hunt for a man seen “pleasuring” himself at a bus stop near a shopping centre in Morwell, as the local community is urged to remain vigilant.

The incident unfolded at the bus stop on Princes Dr, outside the Mid Valley Shopping Centre on March 3.

A police spokeswoman said Central Gippsland sexual offences and child abuse investigation team detectives were investigating the incident after being notified of the man performing the “lewd act”.

“Officers were told a man engaged in the sexual activity in the presence of a female about 8pm,” the spokeswoman said.

In a Morwell community group on Facebook, a user shared they were approached by a man who asked if they had a kid and would take them to the “circus”.

After the person responded with “no”, the man then unzipped his pants.

“Stay safe people had a guy at bus stop pleasuring himself,” the user wrote.

The man was described as having blue eyes, brown hair, a beard, wearing a hi vis shirt and beige pants.

The investigation remains ongoing.
