A student remains in hospital after an explosion during class
A school student from Gippsland remains in hospital after he sustained burns in an explosion during class.

A high school student who was flown to the Royal Children’s Hospital on Wednesday after an explosion at Bairnsdale Secondary College, is in a stable condition in hospital.
Paramedics were called to the junior campus about 11.20am after an explosion in what Leader understands to be the tech room.
The CFA said the boy was close to a fuel drum when it exploded.
CFA crews brought the situation under control within 25 minutes.
The boy was airlifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition with serious upper body injuries.
School principal Trudie Nagle said the incident was “quickly contained”.
“There was an incident at school this morning that resulted in a student being taken to hospital,” Ms Nagle said.
“There is no danger to students or staff and classes are continuing as normal.”
A Department of Education spokesman said: “A Bairnsdale Secondary College student is receiving medical treatment following an incident this morning.”
“Support is being provided to other students and staff,” he continued.
WorkSafe Victoria will investigate the incident.
It is understood parents found out about the incident via social media.
