Motorcycle rider killed in horror Traralgon collision

A biker has been killed in a horror collision in Traralgon South.

A motorcycle rider has died after a horror collision in Gippsland on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services responded to reports of a collision on Downies Lane in Traralgon South.

It is believed a vehicle and the motorcycle collided about 4.30pm Tuesday afternoon.

The motorcycle rider, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and stopped to assist police.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined.

October is Motorcycle Awareness Month which raises awareness for the safety of motorcycle riders on Victorian roads.

So far this year there have been 199 lives lost on Victorian roads, compared to 173 lives lost at the same time last year.
