Elderly man flown to hospital after getting hit by falling tree in Newry, Central Gippsland

A man in his 80s has been flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital after he was injured by a falling tree in Victoria’s southeast.

An elderly man has been flown to hospital after a tree fell on him in Central Gippsland.

Paramedics were called to the scene on Newry-Boisdale Rd in Newry — between Heyfield and Maffra — about 10am Tuesday.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said crews remained on scene for sometime.

The man in his 80s was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition with upper and lower body injuries.
