Driver dies and passenger injured after car crashes into tree on Inglis St, Sale
Community members have taken to social media their devastation on a driver who died after their car crashed into a tree in East Gippsland.

A driver has died after their vehicle crashed into a tree in East Gippsland.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Inglis St in Sale at 2.40pm on Sunday.
The drive of the car, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The other occupant of the vehicle was flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations by police are ongoing.
Facebook users showed their support and devastation on the incident.
“Thinking of those involved today, especially my brothers and sisters in Orange,” Aaron Aero Smith commented on a Wellington Police Service Area Eyewatch post.
“Thinking of those impacted by this. Family, friends, witnesses and emergency service workers,” Melesa Eldred wrote.
“Unbelievably sad …” Andrea Kate McKenzie commented.
“I heard the sirens going off for a good half-hour,” Cameron Green said.
“Oh no. Such a sad incident. Condolences to the families involved,” said Barbara Snowden.
It takes Victoria’s road death toll to 257, compared to 217 lives lost in November last year.
Road safety experts have previously suggested road conditions could be a contributing factor to the number of fatalities.
