Bomb squad unit investigate device found on Vary St, Morwell

The bomb response unit had to be called to a Latrobe Valley home after reports of an unidentified device.

The bomb response unit was called to a home in the state’s east after an unidentified device was found.

Police and other authorities cordoned off a property on Vary St in Morwell after the device was found about 9.45am on Thursday.

“The bomb response unit attended, making the device safe and clearing the area around 7pm,” a police spokesperson said.

“Police continue to investigate the circumstances.”
