Woman arrested following death of man on Yarram-Morwell Rd, Yarram
A woman has been released pending more enquiries after a police probe into a fatal motorcycle accident in Gippsland found the man had injuries “inconsistent” with a crash.

A woman arrested over the discovery of a motorcyclist’s body on a road at Yarram has been released by homicide squad investigators.
The 50-year-old had been in custody since Wednesday when she attended at a police station regarding the man’s death.
He was found on the Yarram-Morwell Rd at 3pm on Tuesday after what was initially thought to be a road accident.
Police later found injuries inconsistent with a crash.
“Please be advised the 50-year-old woman has now been released pending further enquiries. The investigation remains ongoing and there are no further updates at this time,” a Victoria Police spokeswoman said on Thursday.
Officers were called to a motorbike crash scene on Yarram-Morwell Rd in Yarram at 3pm on Tuesday.
“A man was located with injuries, some of which were inconsistent with occurring in a crash,” a police spokesman said.
Emergency services treated the 47-year-old Staceys Bridge man but he died at the scene.
“A 50-year-old woman was arrested about 9.30pm after attending a local police station,” the police spokesman said.
