CCTV footage has revealed the moment an alleged crook broke into a Latrobe Valley bike repair shop.
The incident took place about 6am on Saturday at Gippy Cycles on the Princes Hwy in Traralgon.
A white ute was seen on a security camera driving to the side of the premises, where the driver drove forward and reversed several times and stopped near the doors.
A man with a cap and black hoodie covering his face exited the ute, grabbed a rope, tied it to the door handle of the shop and tied the other end to the back of his vehicle.
The alleged offender then drove off, pulling the doors almost off their hinges and then he reversed back and got out of the car again.
The footage showed the man allegedly yanked the doors with full force, causing significant damage to the building and gaining access inside.
The man allegedly came back with two scooters, put them on the back of his ute and drove off, however both scooters fell off the vehicle as the vehicle drove off.
Gippy Cycles shared the footage to their Facebook page the same day and shed humour on the incident.
“If we don’t laugh at these things, we might actually cry,” the business wrote in a post.
“Happy flipping Saturday to us.
“Still open today (Saturday) 10-2 — just don’t mind the police tape while we wait for crime scene and shop fitters!”.
The business thanked local police for being quick and amazing.
The side doors have been boarded up since the alleged break-in.
A police spokesperson confirmed the incident was being investigated.
