An 80-year-old man has died after his ride-on lawnmower fell down an embankment at a property in the state’s east.

An elderly man has died after the lawnmower he was riding rolled down an embankment at a large rural property in Gippsland.
Emergency services were called to a home on Kelleher Rd in Glenmaggie — near the Montana on the Macalister Caravan Park & Campground — about 8.30pm on Thursday, where the 80-year-old man was found unresponsive.
A police spokeswoman said VICSES and CFA crews assisted police on scene.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious,” the spokeswoman said.
The Herald Sun understands the Kelleher Rd property sits near the edge of a steep hill.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
The Montana on the Macalister Caravan Park & Campground declined to comment on the incident.
