A beloved Gippsland woman has been remembered as “beautiful lady” who always loved having a chat around town.

Susan Elizabeth Noonan, 76, died after she was hit by a car at the intersection of Briagolong Rd and Dawson St in Stratford just after 11am on Saturday November 2.

Emergency services tried to resuscitate Ms Noonan but she was unable to be revived.

The male driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene to assist.

Ms Noonan is the wife of Adrian and mother to daughters Katrina and Samantha.

Stratford Bakery and Maffra Hot Bake worker Brooke Alexander told the Herald Sun the Stratford woman was “very well known” throughout the area.

“She was a beautiful lady, I served her as a customer for nearly five and a half years and we used to get along very well,” Ms Alexander said.

“It was very devastating to hear.”

She said Ms Noonan and her husband would go to the Stratford Bakery two to three times a week to have coffee together.

“They would normally sit out the front for a couple of hours just chatting to one another, and she would always come in and greet us hello and goodbye,” Ms Alexander said.

“We only ever really did small talk when we spoke but she was always telling us how beautiful and kind we were and that is just made her day coming into the bakery.

“She will really be missed — it honestly broke my heart hearing about it... she was so beautiful.”

Users took to Facebook to mourn Ms Noonan.

“So sad she was a beautiful lady. Rip sweetheart,” Stratford local Wendy Richardson commented.
