A woman has been flown to hospital after her car crashed into a tree in South Gippsland.

Paramedics were called to the scene on the South Gippsland Hwy in Agnes — between Toora and Welshpool — just before 1am on Wednesday.

A police spokesperson said the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 38-year-old Toora woman, was flown to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.

It comes after a 24-year-old Trafalgar man died when his car veered off the road and crashed into a tree in Warragul South on Monday morning.

Anyone who witnessed the Agnes crash or has more information is urged to contact the Toora police station on (03) 5686 2485.
