A 25-year-old man has been flown to hospital with critical injuries after he was attacked in Gippsland.

A 25-year-old Paynesville man has been flown to hospital with critical injuries after he was attacked in Paynesville early Thursday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the Paynesville Foreshore Track at Eagle Point about 2.30am on February 24.
A police spokeswoman said the man was located on Burden Place with critical injuries and was flown to hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the assault are still being determined but it is believed the parties involved were known to each other.
Police investigations are continuing.
