Wendouree man, 20, to face court over alleged Pryor St, Mount Pleasant drive-by shooting

A 20-year-old will face court after allegedly firing a gun at a Ballarat home in the middle of the day while two people were inside.

A Wendouree man has been charged over an alleged daylight drive-by shooting on a residential Ballarat street.

Police allege shots were fired from a car towards a house on Pryor St, Mount Pleasant on Wednesday just before 12.30pm.

Two people were home at the time, but no one was injured.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at a property on Willow Grove, Wendouree on Thursday evening, with police allegedly finding a stolen rifle, ammunition, and Volkswagen SUV at the property.

The man was charged with discharging shot at premises with reckless disregard for safety, reckless conduct endangering life, possessing a firearm in contravention of a prohibition order, prohibited person using a firearm, possessing a loaded firearm in a public place, burglary, and theft of a motor vehicle.

He will appear at Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
