A driver accused of trying to kill pedestrians in Stawell will remain in prison for at least another month while the future of his case is determined.

Scott Thomas, 35, allegedly mowed down two pedestrians with his car in March.

Northern Grampians police charged the Stawell man with attempted murder, reckless conduct endangering life, two counts of dangerous driving, two counts of negligently causing serious injury, intentionally and recklessly causing serious injury, and two counts of failing to render assistance.

Police alleged three people were walking near Sloane St and Cooper St about 5.20pm when they were struck by a car.

Two remained in serious conditions days after the alleged incident.

Ballarat Magistrates’ Court heard on Thursday that police required four weeks to consider the most recent offer from Mr Thomas’s lawyer.

“That’s fine,” Magistrate Simon Zebrowski said, “but if the offer’s rejected between now and then, I want to see a form 32 … let’s get cracking.”

A form 32 indicates to the court how a case will proceed.

Mr Thomas was remanded in custody and will return to court at a later date.

He made no application for bail.
