A collision on a rural road southwest of Ballarat has left a Geelong man dead and five others in hospital, including three children.

A Geelong man has died and five people – including three children – were hospitalised after a collision southwest of Ballarat.
Police believe two vehicles, one towing a trailer, collided on Rokewood-Skipton Rd in Pitfield just before 3pm on Tuesday.
A 90-year-old Bell Park man died at the scene, and three children and two adults were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

So far this year, 21 people have died on Victorian roads, compared with 17 at the same time in 2024.
