A home in Brookfield near Melton was evacuated on Sunday morning when a car collided with the property.

About 7.15am, a vehicle crashed into a car already parked at a James Melrose Drive address, which in turn hit a brick pillar.

A family was inside as the incident occurred.

A woman in her 20s with cuts and abrasions was taken in a stable condition to Footscray Hospital.

The SES was later called to erect temporary fencing and building surveyors assessed the building’s safety.

Police spoke with a 21-year-old Melton West woman after the incident.

Fire Rescue Victoria and the Country Fire Authority also attended the scene.
