A woman has died after a car crashed into a tree east of Ballarat on Wednesday morning.
Police are investigating the fatal crash in Pootilla, believed to have occurred about 2am when a 23-year-old woman from Eureka left Ballarat-Daylesford Rd and crashed into a tree.
The impact forced her car to roll several times before it caught on fire, police said.
The woman died at the scene.
Anyone who saw the incident or had footage or information was urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The crash follows another road fatality at the weekend when a motorbike collided with a trailer north of Ballarat, killing a 22-year-old rider.
