Winter Valley motorcyclist dies in Gillies Rd collision

A 22-year-old Winter Valley man died after his motorbike hit a trailer in Sulky at the weekend.

A Winter Valley motorcyclist died at the weekend in a collision north of Ballarat.

Police believe a motorbike collided with a trailer being towed by a car, which was turning into a driveway on Gillies Rd, Sulky about 3.45pm on Saturday.

The 22-year-old rider died at the scene.

Officers spoke to the driver of the car.

Investigators were told there was a line of traffic on the street at the time of the incident and wish to speak to any witnesses.

So far this year, 199 people have died on Victorian roads, compared with 196 the same time last year.
