Alleged Lamborghini driver Bryce Dridan fails to front court over alleged attempt to escape from prison

A mechanic who allegedly crashed his Lamborghini into a Wendouree home is now accused of trying to escape from prison, a court has heard.

A man who allegedly crashed a high-powered and expensive sports car into a Wendouree home has now been accused of trying to escape from prison.

Bryce Dridan, 29, of no fixed address, failed to front court on September 3.

The court heard Mr Dridan was due to appear in the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court for three matters, which included an attempted escape from prison.

No details of the alleged escape were told to the court.

The other two matters related to driving while suspended.

Magistrate Guillaume Bailin issued a warrant for Mr Dridan’s arrest.

The court heard Mr Dridan, a mechanic, had previously been in custody on other matters but was now in the community.

The father-of-two is accused of being behind the wheel of a Lamborghini that crashed into a unit near the corner of Learmonth Rd and Ring Rd in Wendouree.

Video posted on social media showed the luxury car careering into the brick wall of a home after leaving a roundabout on Ring Rd about noon.

Mr Dridan is next due in court on September 19.
