A Beechworth husband and father with an adventurous spirit who touched the lives of nearly everyone he met died suddenly, leaving friends and family grief-stricken.
Brenton Kaitler, 40, went for a ride on the purple loop of the Indigo Trail in Beechworth on May 25 when crashed over a water bar on a fire trail.
His body was discovered by authorities early the following morning.
“He was always so full of life and always up for an adventure. I miss him incredibly, already,” close mate and groomsman at Brenton’s wedding Richard Read said.
The two adventurers had nearly two decades of experiences on both two and four wheels.
Passionate about mountain biking, Brenton and his wife, Sally, started Beechworth eMTB, a guided tour and e-mountain bike hire business just over a year ago.
“He could be polarising, but everyone really loved him in the end because of his beautiful nature and generosity,” Mr Read continued.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family financially, having already
surpassed its $10,000 target in 72 hours.
“(Whether it is) the mountain bike community, the motor racing rally car community, and the general beautiful Beechworth community. He had such a huge effect on everyone he encountered,” Mr Read added.
