Dutton to call for national sex offender register

A public sex offenders’ register, loosely based on the US where parents can look up where convicted child sex offenders live, would be created across Australia under a move being urged by the Morrison Government.

Brave firefighters have told how they were forced to ­retreat from the fierce ­Rosedale blaze, which could burn for weeks. The close encounter came just hours before dozens of firefighters were left shaken when the unpredictable fire front turned on them.
