Seventh Victorian dies, ADF to doorknock positive cases

A seventh Victorian has died from coronavirus in 24 hours as 300 new cases were confirmed. It comes as ADF troops get set to doorknock positive virus cases after it was revealed a quarter of those infected were unable to be contacted within a day of testing positive.

Cops, ADF patrol Melbourne’s streets in virus fight

In a jarring sight, soldiers in full uniform have patrolled Melbourne’s streets with police officers. The two forces have come together in the state’s fight against coronavirus. It comes as another five Victorians died and 403 cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.

Lockdown longer if Victorians fail isolation test: Andrews

An alarming number of Victorians are going out while feeling sick or awaiting COVID-19 test results, with Premier Daniel Andrews warning the lockdown will be extended if people keep failing to isolate. It comes as the state recorded a new daily high for virus cases and another meat processing plant shut down due to a number of cases.

The stores that will ban maskless shoppers

Shoppers at some of Victoria’s biggest retailers will be turned away if they are not wearing a mask, with Kmart and Bunnings among the stores to enforce a “no mask, no entry” policy when the state’s mandatory face-covering rules begin on Thursday.

Aged care residents under siege from virus

Nursing homes across Victoria are working desperately to prevent COVID-19 outbreaks from turning deadly. There are now 30 aged care facilities in lockdown as fears grow over the virus spreading through regional homes.
