Businesswoman and popular social media figure Sophie Cachia has given birth to her third child, a daughter named Esme.
Cachia’s partner, AFLW star Maddy Prespakis, said it was the best day of her life.
“Lots of smiles and tears!” Prespakis posted on Instagram.
“I’m speechless. THE best day of my life. My love, you are amazing, I’m so proud of you. Baby girl is finally here.”
Cachia posted a polaroid picture of her newborn with her two other children, Bobby, 10 and Florence, 8, from her marriage to ex-husband Jaryd Cachia.
She said her children were by her side, too. “Esme Sophie Shaw joined our world on Jan 28th at 5.58pm watched on by her amazing big brother & sister. My dream experience to have them there and now diving deep into my love bubble.”
Cachia said she’d always dreamt of adding to her family and had started the medical process back in 2021.
After breaking up with her ex-fiance she continued with the IUI process and found love with Prespakis while falling pregnant last year with donor sperm.
Cachia said she’s adamant on keeping her “anonymous donor” private and revealed that only her best friend knows their identity.
“My own family — my mum, my sisters — they don’t know anything about the donor I chose for this pregnancy because I don’t believe it’s of any value,” Cachia told Stellar last year.
“The way I view it, this child is mine and mine only, and how that child was made or who contributed to that child being made is of no importance at all.
“I have, over the years, weighed up using a friend’s sperm, which I know a lot of people in my community do,” she continued.
“That wasn’t the option I wanted to go down; I’ve spent three to four years working on this process. It’s not something I woke up and went, ‘You know what I feel like doing? I feel like getting knocked up today.’ It’s no secret. I’ve spoken about the fact that I did start this medical process back in 2021 and due to various situations, that outcome didn’t come to fruition.”
Cachia said her relationship was unexpected but she’s now the happiest version of herself.
Last month she wrote on social media: “This girl literally holding me together this last month ... mentally, physically, emotionally. By far my hardest pregnancy that my body has endured & yet the real fun is only about to begin ... For me, the way I feel most safe in a relationship is having a solid teammate. Never confused by their acts or intentions, but one you know is going to stand beside you in any battle, hand-in-hand, knowing regardless of the outcome, you did it together & had each other’s backs before anything else. You are the love that deserves to be shouted from the rooftops and I’ll never stop. Thank you for your love & patience taking us all on. You were so worth the wait.”
