What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas ... someone tell Andy Lee!

Golf’s “bro code” was violently breached when Andy Lee took to Instagram to give his followers an insight into Mick Molloy’s antics on their weekend away.

What happens on the golf trip stays on the golf trip.

We were reminded of this most sacrosanct of golfing’s bro codes when attempts to put Dictator Dan up for membership at Portsea Golf Club hit the rough this week.

So steeped in history are the bro codes, they should be cast in stone at the 19th hole:

Thou shalt give a six-hour minimum to the missus to play 18 holes.

Thou shalt stay for the round, waiting for an opportune time to take a call pretending to be at work.

Thou shalt always accept beer if offered, even before midday, even if it is not “your brand.” Your favourite beer is “free” beer, closely followed by “cold” beer.

Thou shalt use specific head nods when greeting other males on course. If you know them, you nod up. If you don’t know them, nod down.

Thou shalt …. well, you get the drift.

So it was no wonder Mick Molloy was angry when his buddy and fellow comedian Andy Lee violated the golfing bro code this week.

It was a five-ball of Australian comedy on their trip away to Thornton’s Cathedral Lodge with Sam Pang, Working Dog’s Rob Sitch and Kel Knight, aka Glenn Robbins, also playing.

The 18-hole course is owned by investment banker and former Essendon president David Evans and was designed by none other than Great White Shark Greg Norman.

The high-end private facility has fewer than 200 members and imitates some of the best golf courses in the world, such as Augusta National.

Mick Molloy thought nothing of letting it all hang out, knowing the bro code would protect him around the manicured greens.

But Andy Lee posted images to his social media account following the trip away, including one of a rather blurred looking Molloy in his tartan pyjama pants, puffing on a ciggy late at night.

Cue comments like “Australia’s version of Burt Reynolds” and “looking like everyone’s druncle” (drunk uncle) quickly followed.

“I was enjoying a private moment between me and a ciggy on a balcony, he should know better,” Molloy moaned.

“I’m sensitive as have previously been papped eating a burrito in Bondi.”

“What happens on a golf trip stays on a golf trip,” Molloy told his Triple M Breakfast show, Molloy and MG.

“Andy has broken a lot of rules here.”

Lee doubled down, saying Molloy might even have dozed off before waking up again to consume the gasper.

Molloy’s pyjama pix brought to mind another legendary tale.

This one is about three mates enjoying an epic trip to the Sage Valley golf course in the US. Not cheap at $1000 or so-a-head.

The caddys were wondering what on earth was going on when a photo shoot was demanded after playing the first hole.

The snap was taken and suddenly the boys had dived into the trees, only to come back wearing different golfing clobber.

Another photo shoot was deemed necessary at the third hole, only for another tree dash and another change of outfits.

Three photo shoots were taken at three different holes with the boys then walking straight off the course.

Turns out they were headed to Vegas and what happens in Vegas really stays in Vegas.

The different golf shots were cover for when the probing questions started back at home.
