Rich lister Shaun Wilson has been caught up in the latest crime spree facing Melbourne’s affluent suburbs.

The Bondi Sands co-founder and his leggy influencer glamazon girlfriend Tess Shanahan had their luxury Mercedes Benz damaged during a midnight vandalism spree in South Yarra last weekend.

They say bad things happen in threes, so you can’t blame Wilson and his Bondi Sands partner Blair James wondering what’s next.

Three weeks ago, co-founder James and his heavily pregnant wife Melanie woke up terrified in their Kew mansion, with invaders in their house stealing the keys to their Porsche Cayenne.

“I woke up to footsteps in the house. We were a bit asleep, but it sounded like kids running down the hallway,” James told Page 13 at the time.

Now it’s Wilson who is the victim, with thieves targeting their South Yarra street and attempting to break into their car.

Wilson said police had told them a group had stolen one vehicle on the street and damaged several others, adding aggravated crime was on the rise in the area.

“It looked like it was a professional job and they have used some special device to shatter the window,” Wilson said.

“They obviously knew what they were doing,” Shanahan added.

Police confirmed they were investigating the break-in amid a surge in aggravated burglaries in the suburb.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said three vehicles at and near the property had their windows smashed in over the weekend of June 17 and 18.

The alleged offenders took money after breaking into the cars.

The latest crime data shows that the number of aggravated burglaries in South Yarra doubled from 10 to 24 offences in the past year.

Meanwhile, police remain concerned about youths targeting high-powered cars in some of Melbourne’s most affluent suburbs, such as Kew, Brighton and Camberwell.

Car thefts rose 18 per cent compared with last year and police have arrested more than 200 alleged offenders in the past three months.
