A Toorak woman has been left seriously injured by thugs robbing her apartment block.

The victim wound up in hospital after confronting three males who had driven into the car park of the Toorak Rd building in a stolen white Audi Q3.

The trio started smashing the windows of cars and stealing personal items at around 3.15pm on Thursday.

As the intruders tried to drive out of the car park, they were blocked by an incoming Range Rover.

A passenger from the Audi then jumped out and struck a window of the Range Rover several times.

Police believe a victim whose car had been broken into then approached the Audi and was punched in the face.

Those on board were last seen driving away west along Toorak Rd.

The victim, a 59-year-old Toorak woman, was taken to hospital.

The attack is being investigated by detectives from Stonnington CIU.

They have asked anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam or CCTV footage to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit the website crimestoppersvic.com.au
