While you might (quite rightly) be scratching you head thinking is it a spithood for prisoners? Tony Mokbel’s longtime lawyer Sarah Tricarico insists her new product is actually a must have fashion accessory.
And she’s not talking Guantanamo Bay chic.
Tricarico and her former hairdresser turned business partner Isabelle Borg were sick of smearing their heavy make up on their clothes and ruining their hair as the got dressed for the courtroom and the salon.
So the pair created what they say is a failsafe solution, the Isaveste Protector, a black bag that took six months of research to perfect, to pop over the wearer’s head as they get ready, retailing for $39.95.
A former junior for underworld lawyer Zarah Garde-Wilson, Tricarico, whose clients include crime kingpin George Marrogi, Ali Aydin and Mokbel associate Dominic Barbaro, says she enjoys having a creative outlet with her business side hustle.
We couldn’t help but ask if she thought about doubling up to use the hood for her high profile clients on their way to court to avoid the flashbulbs from prying paparazzi. She said it hadn’t occurred to her.
Tricarico, who has been acting for Mokbel in his Lawyer-X appeal since 2017, was courting headlines herself earlier this year when her Aberfeldie home and CBD office were raided by Victoria Police’s criminal proceeds squad.
She told Page 13 she wears the moniker gangland lawyer with pride.
“I embrace it,” Tricarico said. “I go with the flow and I’m happy about what I do and work really hard.”
