The so-called cold war between Carrie Bickmore and Lisa Wilkinson has been bubbling for years
The cold war between The Project’s outgoing hosts Carrie Bickmore and Lisa Wilkinson was evident in the Channel 10 green room this week.

Do we need to address the elephant in the room at The Project?…. again.
The so-called Carrie Bickmore and Lisa Wilkinson cold war has been bubbling around the industry ever since the former Today Show co-host jumped ship from Nine and signed a multimillion, multi-year, contract with Network 10.
Nothing to see here and don’t pit women against each other has been the predictable response from producers and those at the network. And fair play, women hating on women is a tired and over used stereotype.
But see through, somewhat forced, social media posts gushing about each other’s exits wasn’t exactly fooling many and behind the scenes it’s no secret the two are not besties.
On Wednesday night when Bickmore said her final goodbye after her stellar stint as host of the news and entertainment panel show since it first started, it didn’t take long for those inside Ten’s South Yarra headquarters green room to realise it was a Lisa free zone.
Every man and their dog who has appeared on the show – from Rove McManus to Charlie Pickering – were present. But nary a mention of Lisa who co-hosted The Project for four years before abruptly announcing her exit last month.
Whispers from inside the green room on Wednesday said Bickmore’s ridgy-didge bestie Tommy Little was also following her lead and exiting the show to focus on his radio career (cha-ching).
But those at Ten said Little would be back next year in his role as a friend of the show.
Little’s management sent a statement to Page 13 saying “Tommy’s very much looking forward to receiving a call from The Project team again in 2023.”
