Melbourne has found itself a new superhero.
Former Hawthorn premiership hard man Campbell Brown has taken it upon himself to get the city he loves back to its former glory.
Brown was travelling on a Metro train on Friday morning into the city when he witnessed a dishevelled clearly addled man sit down, put his feet on the seat, spit on the ground and then start relieving himself all over the carriage.
With women and children sitting nearby, Brown decided to take matters into his own hands.
He approached the man and suggested he should get off at the next stop.
When there was resistance, the former AFL star said: “I’m not asking. If you don’t get off I’ll remove you.”
Wisely the offender took Brown’s advice and departed the train with the other passengers quickly applauding and thanking their new superhero.
He then delivered a Russell Crowe-like Gladiator speech declaring: “The standard you walk past is the standard you accept. I’m sick of it and I’m taking my city back.”
All hail Browny the superhero.
