Shock photos, video of superstar jockey Jamie Kah circulating online

Shock images and video have emerged of champion jockey Jamie Kah appearing to rack up lines of white powder just days after she announced she was back in the saddle.

Video appears to show Jamie Kah racking lines of white powder

A video has emerged appearing to show Jamie Kah racking up lines of white powder just days after the champion jockey announced she was returning to the track.

It comes after The Herald Sun on Friday published damning photos from the same night - just a day after the superstar jockey announced she was back in the saddle and eyeing a stunning return to racing, three months after a horrifying fall that landed her in hospital with bleeding to the brain and memory loss.

One of the two photographs doing the rounds within the racing industry on social media platform WhatsApp this week show Kah smiling for the camera in a grey robe, with her manicured white nails and hand resting on her cheek.

She is pictured with close friend and housemate, greyhound trainer Jacob Biddell, who is pouting for the photo in a ribbed cream turtleneck jumper.

Another girl, believed to be a friend also involved in racing, is pulling peace signs with her hands, with a grey plate visibly centre stage and several empty champagne glasses strewn across the marble kitchen bench.

The other more damning photo, shows Kah’s hand, with her robe and white manicure clearly identified, using a plastic card to divide up a mound of white powder on the same grey plate, with a little bag containing white powder and vape next to it on the same kitchen bench top.

The Herald Sun reached out to Kah’s management for comment on Friday.

Later on Friday, Kah responded to the damning images on Twitter.

“I am determined to focus on my mental health and recovery following my race fall in March which left me with a serious brain injury and being in hospital for three weeks,” she wrote.

“I am working hard to get back to doing what I love, and that is being a passionate and successful jockey.”

“I will continue to focus on my physical and mental health and making a full recovery so I can return to racing and be the best person that I can possibly be. I won’t be making further comment.”

Insiders say the incident happened recently and that Kah was unaware the photo of her lining up the white substance had been taken.

It is unclear how the images came to light on social media.

A Racing Victoria spokesman said: “The Stewards will be making enquiries of Jamie Kah to avail themselves of all the facts before considering whether any Rules of Racing have been breached”.

The Group 1 star sustained a severe concussion in an unfortunate race fall at Flemington on March 11.

She was put in an induced coma for five days and also had several breaks to the body, including a shattered wrist, foot and nose.

It has been reported she made significant improvement over the past six weeks, returning to track work at Cranbourne this week.

“I feel 100 per cent. I feel like I’m back to myself and I feel like I’ve got a purpose again,” Kah told racing media on Thursday.

“Confidence is back to normal, I haven’t felt like I’ve missed a day.”

Last month the 27-year-old revealed to Sunday Herald Sun columnist and Channel 7 presenter Hamish McLachlan she was “100 per cent” to let rip again.

“The last few weeks have been really difficult because I know in myself I feel normal, I feel back to myself and just not going to work and not riding horses, that’s been the hardest part.”

Kah was recently holidaying in Bali with her on-again-off again jockey boyfriend Ben Melham.

The pair were embroiled in controversy in 2021 after being caught in a wild Airbnb party on the Mornington Peninsula during the pandemic.

Following the illegal lockdown party, stewards suspended the racing licenses of Kah, Melham and fellow jockeys, Mark Zahra, Ethan Brown and apprentice Celine Gaudray, causing them to miss the 2021 Spring Racing Carnival.

Kah has suffered from mental health issues since.

Meanwhile, Biddell and Kah have frequently been pictured on social media together, with the greyhound trainer referring to her as his, “ride-or-die,” which is social media speak meaning they are very close friends.

Biddell reportedly resides on Kah’s sprawling Somerville property and conducts his training operations alongside her.

Kah has bought ownership in Biddell’s current crop of chasers, including the recently retired Teflon Tears.

Biddell reportedly said the two met as teenagers in Adelaide, where Kah originally hails from.

“I’ve known Jamie for a really long time,” Biddell told Australian Greyhound Racing News last year.

“She convinced me to come over to Melbourne and that I would really like it, so I did.”

“Later down the track, she brought this beautiful property in Somerville and got it all set-up, with a track, a straight, a horse walker and all the stuff you need to train racehorses.

“I told her I was thinking about giving greyhound training a go and she said if I was interested I was more than welcome to go and live with her and train them on her property.”

Kah is certainly not the first homegrown celeb to be embroiled in a white substance scandal on social media.

But where to start?

Nadia Bartel was infamously filmed hoovering a white powder during an illegal gathering in lockdown, with the sniffing video quickly going viral after being uploaded to Instagram by her, now former, bestie Ellie Pearson in 2021.

Last year Western Bulldogs star Bailey Smith apologised after images of him holding a bag of white powder surfaced on social media.

Earlier this year Collingwood’s Jack Ginnivan was slapped with a two-game ban after vision emerged of the Pies’ young gun with an illicit substance at a Torquay hotel.

It’s quite the impressive, er, line up.
