An Australian TV starlet has gone to the police over an intimate video of her that she says was “hacked” from her phone and distributed illegally.
The young actor told Page 13 last night that she had “everyone” on her team working to have the explicit images and video removed from the internet.
She spoke of her devastation at the tape now circulating on the web.
“I am well aware of this,” she said of the video. “I have my lawyers and everyone who can possibly be involved on it.”
The budding actor said the video was hacked from her personal phone and “taken illegally”.
After speaking with her lawyers, she had also gone to the police about the matter.
“We have tried to get this taken down,” she said. “I literally can’t say too much as court orders are involved.”
The Logies nominated actor is devastated by the gross breach of privacy.
It is not the first time a homegrown star has been caught up in a video scandal.
In 2017, an explicit video of Collingwood star Dane Swan went viral after being posted on the internet.
South Australia’s Georgia May Gibson was accused of using a mobile phone to film a naked Swan “in a manner of upskirting” in June 2017 and distributing the video without his consent.
In Victoria, it is illegal to share an intimate or sexual image of a person if they did not agree to it.
Fast forward to June this year and the charges were dropped after the Brownlow medallist told police he didn’t want the case to continue.
A police spokesman later said: “The victim in this matter indicated he did not wish to proceed. Following discussions between police, prosecutors and the victim, a decision was made to make an application to withdraw the charges.”

Hollywood stars including Jennifer Lawrence, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and Kirsten Dunst were embroiled in a nude photo scandal in 2014 that saw intimate, private photos of them splashed over the internet.
Images of over 100 well-known actors, singers and celebrities were exposed by a hacker on 4chan website in a major breach of privacy.
The hacker reportedly accessed the files through the iCloud accounts of the celebrities.
