James Kennedy opened Victoria’s newest stable out at Pakenham this week with US horse whisperer Monty Roberts.
Mr Kennedy, as he likes to be called, is leasing a space next to the racetrack after buying a bigger lot nearby for a purpose-built training facility to be erected.
Kennedy Racing will start with seven horses and is hoping to salute during the Spring Carnival.
American horse behavioural expert Roberts believes in “nonviolent” training methods where tassels are used on the end of whips.
The horse whisperer was at Pakenham with South African trainer Chesney van Zyl for the announcement before jetting off to the UK to impart some horse sense to the Queen, another noted equine enthusiast.
