KYLIE SPINS AROUND BACK TO MUSHROOM
THIRTY years after first signing to Mushroom Records and Kylie Minogue is returning to her roots.
Kylie became a household name after signing with Michael Gudinski’s Mushroom Records in 1987 to release Locomotion. The rest as they say is history.
“Kylie is a superstar,” Mushroom Group chairman Gudinski said. “I’m incredibly excited to have her releasing music again via the Mushroom Group. She’s family to us and it’s great to have her back home again.”
Minogue will release her upcoming album, hinted at having a slightly Nashville twang, with Mushroom Records in Australia after a special deal was inked with her new label BMG UK. Minogue hits the ruby rug at Hawthorn’s Rivoli cinemas on Thursday for her film Swinging Safari, a stone’s throw from where she grew up in Camberwell. It is expected she may hang around to celebrate Christmas at home.
