Run For The Kids a boost for Royal Children’s Hospital patients like Sierra

SIERRA was leading the normal life of a little kid until she was diagnosed with cancer in August. It has been a daunting challenge for the five-year-old.

YOUNG Sierra has faced her fair share of challenges during her short life.

Diagnosed with cancer in August, Sierra, 5, has been in and out of the Kookaburra ward at the Royal Children’s Hospital ever since.

Mum Trish said life had taken a sharp and difficult turn from the “normal life of a little kid”.

“But she’s a trouper, she’s very strong,” she said.

Trish hopes to draw on her daughter’s strength as she hits the pavement on March 18 for the 2018 Herald Sun/CityLink Run for the Kids.

Entries for the annual fun run open today, with proceeds supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

This year, actor and former politician Arnold Schwarzenegger is throwing his support behind the cause.

The Arnold Sports Festival will partner the run, which includes a 15.3km and a 5km family-friendly course.
