Radio host Carrie Bickmore reveals an ‘error’ she made at Taylor Swift’s Melbourne show left her sitting in her seat for half of the show.

Taylor Swift’s Australian shows are the hottest tickets in town, but for one five-year-old it was just all too much.

Carrie Bickmore revealed on-air Tuesday morning that her youngest daughter, Adelaide, fell asleep during the last hour and a half of Swift’s three-hour Melbourne concert this past weekend.

The former Project host was then forced to carry her until the concert wrapped.

In hindsight, Bickmore says it probably wasn’t a good idea she brought a five-year-old to the gig at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, but the Carrie& Tommy co-host said she wanted Adelaide to experience the concert live with her big sister, Evie, 9.

The trio were joined by the 16-year-old daughter of Bickmore’s friend, and Fifi Box and her two kids – Trixie, 11, and Daisy, 4 – also tagged along.

“That was the first possible error. I still haven’t worked out if taking the five-year-old was a smart idea or not, but I took my two kids and I went with Fifi and she took her two kids,” Bickmore said this morning on 2DAY FM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin, while chatting about her experience at Swift’s Era Tour concert.

“But I’ll be honest, the youngest one didn’t last till the end. She slept on me for the last hour and a half.”

Still, Bickmore said she has no regrets as the joy on her kids’ faces when Swift first came on stage was priceless.

“Until that point, the pure joy I saw on their faces quite genuinely … Obviously, when you go to a concert yourself that you’re quite passionate about, you feel that joy. I like Taylor but I wasn’t an insane Swiftie like they were,” she said.

“Then when I got there, I just got swept up in it all and it was phenomenal, so I was crying watching them. I have all these videos of them singing – they know every lyric, every song and it was awesome. Everybody was just so generous and friendly and excited It was a really, really lovely experience.”

When host Dave Hughes joked that Bickmore should’ve just given the ticket to a diehard fan outside the stadium and let little Adelaide “sleep on the concourse for the last hour with a security guard”, Bickmore admitted she thought about giving away the ticket before the show.

“The whole time I thought about that because I had every single person in my life asking for tickets. Everybody!” she shared. “And I took with me one of my friend’s daughters who’s 16, and this is all she’s talked about.

“I thought, should I give my ticket up? But I wanted the girls to experience it together and I’m really glad I did.”
