An Australian radio host has lashed out at local Taylor Swift fans for attending her concerts more than once.
More than four million people tried to buy tickets to the Australian leg of the Eras Tour when it went on sale last year, with only around 600,000 tickets on offer across both Sydney and Melbourne dates.
While millions missed out entirely, some managed to get their hands on seats for several nights of Swift’s seven Aussie shows.
Geelong-based K Rock 95.5 co-host Cameron ‘Lingy’ Ling dubbed repeat attendees who brag on social media among “the biggest flogs in the world.”
“Those people that went to more than one Taylor Swift concert … Now, I’m talking about the person who went to more than one concert and decided to flaunt it out there and put it everywhere,” the former AFL player said on theTom, Lingy & Loggy show Monday.
“There were [so many] who were desperate to get a ticket,” he continued.
“Don’t flaunt it though! Don’t put it on social media. You know what you are, you are a flog.
“If you do that and pump it into other peoples faces, I’m not a big fan of yours.”
Ling’s co-host Lauren ‘Loggy’ Temuskos agreed, saying she was devastated to miss out on attending the concert, which was made worse by seeing others get to go multiple times.
“I did see someone who is a family member, that I love, who went twice,” she said.
“[They wrote] ‘Oh, second night ready!’ and I was gutted, because I really wanted to go.”
Swift just wrapped three consecutive concerts at the MCG, which saw her perform to the biggest crowd of her career with 96,000 attending each night.
Next, she’ll hit Sydney’s Accor Stadium for four back-to-back shows from Friday night.
The 14-time Grammy winner flew into Sydney on her private jet at lunchtime on Monday, before being whisked off to her top-secret accommodation.
It was rumoured she’d be staying in Crown Sydney’s Presidential Villa, given the hotel company is the official partner of the Eras Tour.
However, newer reports suggest Swift has booked out a private mansion in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
