Taylor Swift’s top-secret way of getting to the stage during her Australian stadium shows has been revealed.

A video posted to Instagram from her Melbourne show Friday night shows a man wheeling a cleaning cart past the audience toward the side of the stage at the MCG.

He then pulls up the cart behind a black tent, before Swift is seen popping out in full costume as she walks up a set of stairs to get backstage.

“Yep, it’s true … Taylor getting out of the ‘Cleaning Cart’ night 1 in Melbourne!,” Melbourne social media creator Joel Stewart wrote alongside the video.

It seems Swift’s stage set-up at the MCG wasn’t in line with the stadium’s underground entry points, meaning she had no choice but to be transported in view of thousands of diehard fans – many of whom were none the wiser such valuable cargo was inside.

Adele had a similar method of going incognito through the audience when she toured Australia in 2017.

The UK singer performed in the round in the country’s biggest sporting stadiums, where there was no underground access to the pitch, leaving her with only one option to get to her starting position before the show.

Her cover was blown halfway through the tour when fans speculated she was hiding inside a large black box being transferred through the audience before the show. The star later told the crowd in Adelaide she was “scared” people had discovered her hush-hush entry method.

“I’ve done so many shows in that box, and it has been a nightmare. This time when I came out, you all knew I was in it. I was scared, I was. I’m not lying. I was frightened,” she said at the time.

“So now, I’ll just walk out and ruin the surprise and be like ‘Oh hello, hello!’”

It’s not the first time Swift has been spotted arriving to her concerts in a cleaning cart.

In April, ahead of her show in Arlington, Texas, a fan captured footage of the megastar emerging from a large cart wearing her opening Lover-inspired outfit.

Swift just wrapped three consecutive concerts at the MCG, which saw her perform to the biggest crowd of her career with 96,000 attending each night.

Next, she’ll hit Sydney’s Accor Stadium for four back-to-back shows from Friday night.

The 14-time Grammy winner flew into Sydney on her private jet at lunchtime on Monday, before being whisked off to her top-secret accommodation.

It was rumoured she’d be staying in Crown Sydney’s Presidential Villa, given the hotel company is the official partner of the Eras Tour.

However, newer reports suggest Swift has booked out a private mansion in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
