Is Will Simpson Victoria’s most eligible bachelor?

The easy-on-the-eye farmer from the tiny township of Berriwillock, 70 km west of Swan Hill, has set viewers swooning after the first promos for Channel 7’s Farmer Wants A Wife started airing with many asking on social media why is this guy single?

According to Simpson, there is a bit of dearth of potential partners in small rural communities.

“It is a bit of an issue with the lack of people living in the area that I live in,” Simpson said.

“It is a pretty common theme right across rural Australia, making it hard for people to find life partners.

“This opportunity opened me up to potentially meeting people I would never have met otherwise.”

At 27, Simpson said he is ready to settle down.

“Over the last few years I have worked a lot on myself and set myself up in the family business on the farm,” he said.

“I’ve come to a point where I am really happy with my position on the farm, really happy with myself and I felt there was one thing missing and that was a partner.

“I am quite lucky to have the life that I have and I felt like I was ready to share that with someone.

“So I pretty much said ‘stuff it, let’s give it a go, what is the worst thing that could happen?’.”

He said his ideal partner was “someone who is honest and genuine, respectful and someone who is flexible in the ways that they think.

“With farming you have to be flexible because no two days are the same, no two months are the same.”

As for the tag of Victoria’s most eligible bachelor, it is not a title he is seeking.

“I reckon there are plenty of other blokes out there that could top me for sure, they probably just have not been on TV shows,” he said.

“It is funny seeing that sort of stuff because, to be honest, it is not the way I look at myself at all.”
