Tony Jones vows to shut his mouth after bold Magpies claim leaves him washing cars

Sunday Footy Show host Tony Jones has been forced to put his money where his mouth is after losing an on-air bet about Collingwood.

First The Morning Show host Larry Emdur ends up with a tattoo on his backside after a wild Logies claim, now Sunday Footy Show host Tony Jones is washing cars in Coburg after a on-air footy prediction fell flat.

Jones made the rash claim on The Sunday Footy Show a couple of weeks ago that he was so confident the Magpies would make the AFL finals that he would spend a morning washing cars if the team missed the top eight.

“Maybe I should say less words and get in less trouble,” Jones mused.

Proving he is a man of his word, Jones will be at Ampol at 565 Sydney Road, Coburg on Thursday (August 29) from 10:30am with his squeegee, bucket, sponge and soap.

“About two and a half months ago Matthew Lloyd said Collingwood was in danger of not making the finals which I thought was a ridiculous comment, so I said if they don’t I will wash cars on Punt Road for two hours,” he said.

“I think it is illegal to do that, so I am going to be in Coburg washing windscreens.

“I challenge Channel 10 and Channel 7 to bring their news cars through and I will give them a spit and polish.

“If the Premier is cruising by on her way to an engagement hopefully she will stop in.”

His efforts will raise funds for the My Room Children’s Cancer Charity.

Meanwhile, Emdur is now sporting ink on his bum after winning the Gold Logie last Sunday.

Emdur was so sure he had no hope of winning the prestigious award that he pledged to get the initials of his fellow nominees tattooed on his bottom should the unthinkable happen and he be victorious. The unthinkable happened. The tattooing took place live on air on Monday.
