TIGER star Dustin Martin is getting racy this spring with a horse named after the raucous celebrations at a Melbourne nightclub after Richmond’s Grand Final victory last year.
The high flying Richmond champion is a part owner of a three-year-old High Chaparral gelding named Taxi, trained by his mate Clinton McDonald.

“The name Taxi came from Grand Final night,” McDonald said.
“We were all together and I got left paying for the taxi (when the group including Martin got to Bond bar in Melbourne’s CBD).
“And when I got to the line to the nightclub I got knocked back. I said I was with them and was told ‘don’t argue’.”
The video of McDonald getting the brush off soon went viral as did photos of Martin giving clubbers a champagne shower.
The horse, which had its first start at Caulfield on Saturday, was originally to be called Don’t Argue, after Martin’s famous on-field move and McDonald’s knock-back, but that name was registered elsewhere.
So Taxi it became.
“We bought him off Rosemont Stud,” McDonald said.
“Anthony Mithen (Rosemont boss) is a mad Tigers supporter so the horse races in the Tiger colours, yellow with the black gatecrasher.”
He also trains smart galloper Main Stage, which Martin also part-owns.
Speaking of stages, Martin is going to once again be centre stage when he brings his “An Evening With” show to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on December 9 and Wrest Point in Hobart on December 14. Martin sold out three shows at Crown last December.
Tickets are on sale Friday (24th August) via Eventbrite for the Melbourne show and Ticketmaster for Hobart.
